What's that you say, it's burning hot outside you have some left over Watermelon and you need something to cool you down?? Don't fret I have exactly what you're looking for, a SWEET SUMMER TREAT!! Sound Tempting?? Here's what you'll need for my WATERMELON SLUSHY.
Ingredients: 4 cups Watermelon 1/4 cup Fresh lime juice 1/4 cup Orange juice 1/4 cup Sugar 1-2 cups Ice cubes (add a little at a time this it's to the consistence that you like) 4-5 Strawberries (optional but I love what they add)
Yes! It's that time of year again when all the children flock to church to enjoy GREAT music, fun activities, and GOD's word for a whole week. Our little Evangelists had a blast last week and came home everyday talking a mile a minute about all the wonderful things they learned. VBS for me is a blessing and (I don't want to say a curse but you get my point) it felt like as soon as I got Parker back from school I had to give her up again and not just her but my Kenna Cakes too!! How will I survive when they are both in school, I don't know?? However I did get to go grocery shopping by myself for the first time in oh I don't know 6 years (YIKES!) and I have some great footage of them singing and dancing at the church performance last Sunday. So to those of you who know what I'm talking about I quote my 4 year old
"God's word is comforting, LET'S GO!!"
Here's the footage I got on my regular camera on the last day at the sneak peek performance. I wasn't able to get any of Parker's group because the lighting was messing with my camera. (SAD)
I absolutely love taking pictures of my beautiful girls and all the special events going on in their lives, but for some reason I (apparently) refuse to take pictures when it matters most; like on their BIRTHDAYS!! What is it about these parties that make it so hard to pull out your camera and capture all the wonderful moments. Before the party I was planning on getting pictures of Kenna with all of her friends, Kenna eating the AMAZINGLY delicious cake pops that I slaved over, and pictures of Kenna doing anything else that needed to be recorded. Instead I got pics of Kenna in the splashpad where it looks like it could have been any other day there and a few of her friends, and video that's something out of the Blair Witch Project (Keith you should be embarrassed of your filming skills. I know I'm embarrassed for you, but thanks for trying babe! love you!) So without further ado here's what we got!
Well today was the last day of kindergarten for my big girl, and I have to say I'm glad to have her HOME!! I feel bad that she had to miss out on her first last day of school, but with a fever and a sore throat I just couldn't let her go. We have tons of children on our street and some of the wonderful mothers did a little improptu breakfast with donut holes, fresh fruit, and mini blueberry muffins. After our adventure to the doctors office clear across town we headed in to see Mrs. Weckerly to give her the class gift that we put together. She was super excited! I didn't get many pics from today with her being sick and all but here's what I do have.
Here are some pics of the can I put together to hold all of the gift cards. Isn't it CUTE!!!!
I can't believe my BABY is 4 today!!!! On June 1st 2006 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl weighing 6lbs. 15oz. She is a challenging child to say the least but she can also be the sweetest snuggle bug in the world. Kenna has beautiful blue eyes, blonde hair, a booming voice that never takes a break, and a smile that will melt your heart!!
What is it about laying down to go to sleep that makes you think?!? I swear my mind will be empty and I'll be dead tired but as soon as my head hits the pillow all I can think about is, what kind of decorations I need to get for Kenna's birthday, how I can't wait to try that new recipe I found today, or (ooh a big one) what's the next project to add to my ever expanding list of things to-do! So to get me in the "mood" here are a few pics of mainly Kenna sleeping since she's the one keeping me up! The one of me is actually of Kenna too; it was our last few moments truly together!
I'm Erin and my husband Keith and I were married on August 15, 2003 in College Station, Tx. We have been blessed with two beautiful girls Parker and Kenna, a dog named Bren, two fish, and one frog. This is about the "mania" that goes along with being a parent and life in general in the Morgan household.
